An extensive turn-based strategy game that came out as the fifth installment in the Civilization series, a popular franchise created by Sid Meier. Sid Meier's Civilization V was developed by Firaxis Games Studios supported by the publishing company Take Two Interactive. In accordance with the tradition of the series, player becomes the leader of a selected nation and leads it throughout a period of several thousand years. Gameplay mechanics underwent no major changes, and the new solutions (such as implementation of neutral city-states, hexagonal map grid, and the limit of one unit per field) are mostly results of evolution of previously employed ideas. Some visible changes were made to the visuals, which are now powered by a brand new graphic engine.

An action game developed by the independent developer Team Mordhau. The players assume the role of medieval knights and take part in online duels to the death. The characteristic feature of Mordhau is incredibly elaborate combat system that lets us execute precise strikes, slow down and feint attacks. Moreover, we can personalize our armor and weapons to our liking. What’s interesting, the armor our avatar wears affects his mobility — for example, a light armor provides less protection from damage but lets us perform fast dodges. The production was designed solely with multiplayer mode in mind and is powered by Unreal Engine 4 which provides high-quality graphics.

A noir detective action adventure game developed by the Australian studio Team Bondi in cooperation with the veterans from Rockstar Games. The game invites you into Los Angeles of the 1940’s, a city filled with corruption and drug dealing organizations. You assume the role of Cole Phelps, an ex-soldier who becomes a police officer after the war. The game lets you experience the key moments of Cole’s career, starting from the traffic police all the way through murder and drugs department. Gameplay is mainly about examining crime scenes in search of clues and evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects. The game also offers multiple action sequences, including pursuits (either on foot or by car), fist fights, and spectacular shootouts. When it comes to graphics, the most noteworthy feature are the realistic face expressions that allow you to judge the reactions of interogatees. The game overflows with a noir atmosphere characteristic of the 1940’ and 50’ movies.

You play as William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, an Allied special forces spy, who undertakes dangerous missions on enemy territory. Blazkowicz is sent to Nazi Germany to infiltrate Castle Hollehammer, a secret base where research on creating a super-soldier is conducted. The singleplayer campaign consists of six episodes, starting with getting out of the eponymous Castle Wolfenstein. In the enclosed locations of the game, you face various opponents, from guard dogs, through foot soldiers, to powerful mutants—at the end of every level, you have to fight a mighty boss enemy. The game tells a story of a fictional conflict between the United Nations Space Alliance and the Settlement Defense Front - the latter stands against international cooperation. The player takes on the role of Captain Reyes - a pilot serving in Tier 1 Special Operations. Along with his crew on board the warship Retribution, he tries to stop the SDF forces. This installment brings many changes related to the introduction of a different time period - among things worth mentioning are the futuristic weapons and gadgets, as well as a completely new type of missions, in which the player pilots a Jackal fighter plane, participating in fierce aerial battles. Obviously, the story campaign is complemented by an extensive multiplayer and the Zombie mode as usual.

Contrary to that title, in Transport Fever the developers decided to offer not only land-based transport management, but aerial and marine transport as well. The goal of this game hasn't changed however - it still is about developing an efficient transport network connecting different locations, and allowing smooth transportation of goods and passengers. In Transport Fever players need to design routes and railways, erect strategic buildings such as railway stations, airports, and docking bays. The network has to be maintained and upgraded to meet the increasing demands of the market. The whole transport empire is strictly dependent on the economy; the game requires a reasonable management of the funds.

A realistic survival game created by a debuting Australian studio Beam Team Games. The player assumes the role of a plane crash survivor who struggles to remain alive on one of the uninhabited islands of the Pacific. Unlike most games of this genre, this production is focused not only on the exploration of the island itself, but it also encompasses the ocean floor around it. Both areas are randomly generated before each game. The life of our hero can be endangered by various threats: hunger, thirst, heat during the day, or a sudden drop in temperature at night. An encounter with a shark or sailing into the open sea during a storm may also prove deadly. Additionally, the game features an intuitive crafting system, which allows the player to create simple tools as well as more advanced structures such as a raft or a makeshift hut. High quality graphic design, featuring dynamic weather and a night-and-day cycle, stands out in comparison to other games of this popular genre.

An open-world economic tycoon game that focuses on managing a railroad company. The credit for developing this title goes to a Czech gamemaker - Jan Zeleny, who worked on the game for many years. Inspired by such classics as Transport Tycoon or Railroad Tycoon II, Mashinky gives us an opportunity to lay tracks, build and upgrade stations, work on new models of engines, and even to view the game world through the eyes of a train driver in charge of keeping the machine on the route set by the player. Apart from an FPP view and an aerial view, which is typical for strategies, Mashinky brings a special, schematic-isometric perspective that displays the map in the form of a legible engineering grid. This view mode is used to create new intersections of tracks and to mark spots for new structures. The game's economic system is definitely its distinctive feature, as it is not based on virtual money, but rather, on tokens inspired by board games. Those can be obtained through completing various assignments, and can be spent, for instance, on upgrading one's rolling stock - the electric tokens obtained through delivering fuel to a power plant allow the player to make progress towards electric trains. Because the game world is generated procedurally, each playthrough is a unique adventure.

The game was created by the fathers of the franchise - Capcom, though the player assumes the role of a completely new character here - Nick Ramos. As usual, Dead Rising 3 is set in an open environment, in which the protagonist completes a series of different tasks, eliminating entire crowds of zombies along the way. Sophisticated weapons made of various objects found and created on the fly are the hallmark of the series. Both exploration and elimination of enemies are also facilitated by use of different vehicles. In terms of visuals, the third installment presents a more serious art style, though the screen is still dominated by hordes of enemies and gallons of blood. What's important is that the maximum number of enemies that can be displayed on the screen at the same time is now three times larger than before. The graphics fully employ the potential of modern PC hardware and 8th-gen consoles.

In combat, we lead a group of heroes who have different abilities and equipment. We can set up a camp to level up our warriors and equip them with better items between the battles.
