An adventure game with strong action and platform game traits. It was developed by Double Fine Productions. The player assumes the role of a boy named Razputin, Raz in short. His dream is to become a member of the titular Psychonauts, a squad that is maintaining peace in the world. After sneaking up into one of the training camps, the protagonist discovers that the cadets are mysteriously disappearing. Raz, accompanied by his loyal friends, tries to discover this mystery. In Psychonauts the action is presented by using a third-person perspective. The game features more than a dozen of varied levels – most of them take place inside the human minds. During the game Raz must face various enemies, solve some more or less complicated traps, and avoid many dangers. Luckily, the boy is able to jump, swim, climb and sneak. He also has access to a set of paranormal skills, including telekinesis, levitation and invisibility. The game features nice looking graphics. Similarly to previous games of this developer, the title is filled with humor.

A continuation of one of the entries in the LEGO series developed by Traveller’s Tales. The players once again assume the role of Indiana Jones, a famous archeologist/adventurer, and lead him through a number of events that took place in the original trilogy and the newest entry in the series – Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. In contrast to the previous installment, we’ve been given a number of new features and additional vehicles, while the titular hero had received a number of new animations and a more useful whip that allows him to pull his opponents in. The levels are now characterized by a high degree of interactivity, as we can use almost any item as a melee or a ranged weapon. As always, the players can switch between the available characters on the fly, or invite a friend to join our session. Aside from Story and Free Play modes, LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues offers an extensive level editor which can also be used to share our works with other players.

The third installment in the bestselling first-person stealth series, Thief, developed by Ion Storm studio - team composed mostly of developers responsible for the first two parts of the series. The story of Thief: Deadly Shadows is independent from its predecessors, though once again we play the part of well-known thief named Garrett who was the main protagonist of the previous games as well. This time, Garrett's quest is to stop a long-prophesied advent of an era of darkness, which requires him to steal valuable treasures and artifacts from different parts of the city. But things take an unexpected turn when Garrett inadvertently awakens the ancient evil, and becomes considered a traitor by the members of his guild. In terms of game mechanics, the title does not differ significantly from its predecessors, and every mission in the game can be completed in several different ways. The main difference is the new graphic engine and body awareness mechanism through which we have much more control over the hero's actions.

The fourth installment in a best-selling series of strategy games initiated in 1995 by New World Computing. The game is set in Jadame - a fantasy world the players can associate with Might & Magic VIII. Six factions were included here and each of those has their own towns, different units and technologies. Each of them also has a dedicated school of magic and can hire characters belonging to one race only (Strongholds are the only exception). The mechanics went through many modifications and simplifications. The creators got rid of recruitment on a weekly basis, modified the combat system, and erased the necessity to have a character within an army - the characters were turned into units that participate directly in combat sequences. This however, brought many restrictions that made the experience both more difficult and entertaining. The game engine was significantly modified as well, which influenced the size of the maps and brought improvements to the visuals. For the first time in the series, the game is played from an isometric view.

The funds gathered are spent on upgrading one's machinery, as well as buying fuel and spare parts for the machines we own. The in-game seasonal cycle and the subsequent bad weather conditions may damage the player's equipment and sometimes even render them unable to continue excavation. A day and night cycle was also implemented - the player is capable of conducting work at night, but the necessary machines providing light use up precious fuel then, which also has to be taken into consideration. A real-time strategy game enriched with elements of RPGs, city builders, and survival games. Ancient Cities was developed by the independent developer Uncasual Games. The player assumes the role of a tribal leader living in the Neolithic era. The tasks of the player are to provide shelter and protection against predators for the members of the tribe, as well as to obtain sufficient amounts of food. Gathering resources (the whole in-game economy is based on them) resembles a survival game, as flora and fauna are simulated within a dynamic ecosystem. Consequently, wild plants and animals are soon not enough to sustain a constantly growing tribe. In harsh periods, the player has to distribute supplies wisely - for instance, foods naturally degrade over time. Things can also get complicated as a result of sudden climatic changes and natural disasters - one oftentimes has to decide whether to stay in one's settlement and try to survive a difficult period, or to abandon the base in search for a safer zone. Alongside progression, the player unlocks new upgrades in the extensive technology tree, which allows for improvements to one's methods of crafting and cultivation, making the tribe's existence easier in the long run. Members of the tribe are described by individual sets of statistics, talents and skills. These mechanics are complemented by having more or less friendly relations with other tribes.
