A sequel to the bestselling racing game that was a spin-off to the flagship series of racing games developed for Xbox consoles. The title was developed by the creators of the previous entry: Playground Games (Xbox One version) and by Sumo Digital (Xbox 360 version). The new installment takes place in Southern Europe where another Horizon festival takes place. The festival is filled with good music and variety of racing challenges. Similarly as its predecessor, the title offers a large, open world where hundreds of licensed cars await the player. Similarly as the first entry in the spin-off series, the game offers a driving model that is slightly simplified in comparison to Forza Motorsport – it focuses mostly on making the races impressively looking. For the first time in the series the developers implemented a dynamically changing weather system which adds some realism to the races. The developers also added the Drivatars system known from Forza Motorsport 5, enabling the virtual drivers to gain experience even if they don’t participate in the game.

The action is set in the close vicinity of the Crystal Lake, a location known from the movies, and gameplay revolves around multiplayer mode for up to 8 players – one player assumes the role of the murderer Jason Voorhees and the others play as his potential victims. Jason needs to, of course, kill every other player, while the victims’ objective is to avoid getting murdered and, with a bit of luck and cooperation, to exterminate the masked psycho. An original mix of simulation and logic game from the British developer Spiderling, which lets players construct inventive siege weapons that will help them annihilate enemy troops and fortifications. The game puts you up against various challenges, starting with crushing ordinary civil buildings, to besieging heavily fortified strongholds defended by brave knights. In order to succeed you have to use the available parts to create a unique siege weapon able to crush your opponent’s resistance and resist enemy counter-attacks. Players’ creativeness is restrained by nothing; all it takes is a bit of imagination to go from constructing only standard medieval siege weapons, to flame throwers, tanks, simple flying machines, and anything in between. The game features full 3D graphics, and its relatively low system requirements were achieved by reducing the field of view to the nearest area.

The hero has a considerable range of weapons and magic skills at his disposal, and the key element is the proper selection, because too much unnecessary equipment negatively affects the protagonist's mobility and special abilities. The game features an extremely gloomy atmosphere and hand-drawn artwork, typical for the studio's early productions.

It is a good idea to collect various bonuses which provide temporary power-ups and allows you to equip the vehicle with better weapons. In addition to regular enemy aircraft the player will face powerful bosses, encounters with which will require good reflexes and dexterity. Another attraction are the optional missions, during which one must save civilians. These missions are very risky but completing them grants exceptional awards. An adventure game created by an independent studio Variable State. The player assumes the role of a rookie FBI agent, who receives a task of investigating the case of a young boy’s disappearance. The plot is filled with supernatural elements, and science-fiction motifs. The plot of Virginia is completely linear, so the players can focus on experiencing the story. The action is seen from a first-person perspective, while the gameplay mechanics and the way of presenting subsequent events take full advantage of movie narration techniques – there are plenty of varied shots, visible camera work and a movie-like montage. What’s even more interesting, and practically unprecedented in other narrative-heavy games, all information is relayed through picture and sound – there are no dialogues. All conversations end when our character is nearby. The eerie atmosphere is also achieved through an original visual style, in which the simplified face models allow for suggestive relay of emotions, while the red-yellowish, autumn palette brings out the sleepy atmosphere of the area. Story wise and stylistically, the game was visibly inspired by Twin Peaks, a cult-classic TV series.
