A stand-alone expansion for a war-themed RTS game created by Best Way (a Ukrainian developer) and released in December, 2007. In terms of game mechanics, Assault Squad does not stray far from the formula of the base game - the player fights in various places the Second World War left its mark on, taking control over American, Soviet and German, as well as previously unavailable British and Japanese squads. Contrary to the base game, the expansion focuses mainly on multiplayer experience, offering four modes, namely the Frontlines, Combat, Assault Zones and Skirmish. For those preferring single-player games, the creators prepared fifteen missions to be played in the Skirmish mode - one can compete against their friends or bots and their goal is to take over the outposts scattered throughout the map. Men of War: Assault Squad utilizes an improved version of the engine used by the core game, which had a positive effect mainly on the visuals and vehicle models, making them look more realistic.

Mario Kart 8 contains several multiplayer variants, including online as well as local game modes (split-screen, or a wireless mode for up to eight players). Another installment in the popular series of racing games developed by Codemasters. The game expand the concepts its predecessors were based on, adding however, plenty of novelties at the same time. Furthermore, the Landrush mode makes a re-appearance here, but also rallycross events were included, based on the FIA World Rallycross Championship license. The Joyride complements the game modes, offering various kinds of challenges for the player to enjoy. The Career is the most basic mode - the player creates their own driver, attracts sponsors and develops their team, which gradually gets more and more effective. Apart from that, the game brings a competition-based multiplayer component supervised by the RaceNet service, which makes it possible to organize on-line leagues and tournaments. What is completely new here, is the so-called "Your Stage", which is a special module that allows the player to create their own routes. DiRT 4 utilizes a modified and modernized version of the Ego engine, which is at the source of the game's high-quality visuals.

A combination of a turn-based strategy and an RPG, developed by Overhype Studios. Battle Brothers takes the player to a medieval-like low-fantasy world, where they become a leader of a mercenary band. The player can have up to 12 fighters under their command, and each of them has a portrait, name and a backstory, apart from a set of features that affect their stats and capabilities on the battlefield. The game does not make use of character classes, thus the player can assign weapons bought or taken from the enemies without any restrictions. The basic weaponry includes a set of medieval tools, such as swords, spears, axes, bows or crossbows. Different kinds of weapons offer interesting special attacks - for instance, axes can break shields; maces on the other hand, can stun the enemy so they lose their next turn. On their path, both when completing assignments and exploring the world, the player encounters various enemies, fighting ordinary bandits, hostile mercenaries, forest creatures, tribes of orcs and goblins, as well as the undead and terrifying ghosts. If the player manages to survive for long enough, they are faced with one of the ending crises. Those include an invasion of orcs and goblins, a plague of the undead, and a war between the local noble families.

A third-person action game which can be called a jealous girl simulator, developed by an independent designer by the nickname of YandereDev. The title is a term borrowed from Japanese pop culture, meaning a type of personality: such person seems nice and harmless at the first glance but with time shows their alternate, brutal aspect. In Yandere Simulation, we assume the role of a seemingly ordinary high school student who is madly in love with a boy. Mad with love, the protagonist decides not to let any other female colleague romantically pursue him at any cost, and to do so, she is willing to go as far as murder. Mechanics-wise, it is a stealth game with limited dating simulation elements. What deserves attention is the large freedom in choosing the way to achieve a goal. Even though murder is the easiest way to get rid of competition, we can also use more sophisticated methods.

However, this third iteration still introduces a massive number of novelties, such as stunt arenas from the X-Games competitions, or a completely new type of contest, that is the so-called Gymkhana - it was popularized by one of the most famous drivers in the world, Ken Block. Gymkhana is all about being fast and showing off at the same time - a designated route has to be completed as quickly as possible, but the player is rewarded with points for performing various stunts along the way.
