In contrast to its predecessor, Empire Earth II offers a wide range of new features, including improved AI, weather conditions that affect the units on the map, and a new formation system that helps in leading large numbers of units and makes them less likely to engage in random skirmishes. Aside from a single player mode, we are offered nine multiplayer variants, including Hot Spots, a mode that sees us defend strategic locations around the map, an improved multiplayer ranking known as Crown System, expanded match statistics, tournament mode, and finally the ability to record matches.

A continuation of the best-selling first-person stealth game created by Looking Glass Technologies studio in 1998. Once again, we play the part of a thief, Garrett, who is willing to undertake virtually any, daring or not, theft, just to make more money. Thanks to his activities, the protagonist has managed to amass not only sizable assets, but also many bitter enemies, representing three factions governing the city. Thus, in Thief 2: The Metal Age our main task will be to keep Garrett alive and explain the reasons for everyone's sudden increase in interest in his person. Concerning gameplay, the game basically does not differ from the first installment, although player gets a few new useful gadgets at his disposal, such as new types of arrows or an invisibility potion. Artificial intelligence algorithms and the range of potential reactions and behaviors of our opponents were significantly improved.

The second virtual adaptation of the classic RPG system known as Vampire: The Masquerade. It is a third-person action RPG developed by Troika Games - though not the creators of the first adaptation, they were a team popular mainly for the well-received Arcanum: Of Steamwork and Magick Obscura. VTM: Bloodlines is set in an alternative version of the modern Los Angeles, where seven vampire clans fight each other constantly. The protagonist tries to become an important figure in one such community, making use of unique abilities, such as invisibility, superhuman speed or mind control. As the main character gains experience, these abilities can be additionally developed. The player explores the virtual environment, talks to NPCs and fights enemies. In combat, the player makes use of up to twelve vampiric abilities and a wide variety of conventional weapons. The high-quality visuals were delivered thanks to the Source engine, a technology created by Valve for the purpose of running Half-Life 2.

A sequel to the 1993’s RPG by Bethesda, which, despite its numerous bugs and issues, turned out to be a significant commercial success. In The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, we assume the role of a hero who, ordered by the Emperor Uriel Septim VII, sets out to the eponymous city to investigate why the soul of King Lysandus was unable to rest in peace and why it haunts the city’s streets at night. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game does not deviate significantly from its predecessor and offers an even bigger world, twice the size of Great Britain, to explore. The title’s nonlinearity remains its biggest attraction, though. The huge amount of freedom of action allows us to develop the our hero in any and all ways as well as engage in a number of additional activities and side quests. Depending on the player’s choices, the production offers six different endings.

Another installment in the popular series of crazy car racing games. The title is an improved and expanded version of the second entry in the series which was released in 2006. The mechanics of FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage are the same as the ones of its predecessor and they combine classic car racing with the possibility to destroy and eliminate enemy vehicles. In some game modes the developers have completely removed the racing features and focused entirely on impressive car battles like in Destruction Derby and on a stunt mode known as Rag Doll. In comparison to the original version of the game, the developers greatly improved both the graphics and physics engine, and the destruction system that has the key importance in the game. The vehicles are more detailed and much more dynamic, destructible objects appear on each level. The game has also five completely new single player modes and two previously unavailable multiplayer modes.

She has no memories of how she got there or what happened before. Forced to fight against forces of Heaven that constantly attack her, the protagonist gradually learns new facts about her past. The gameplay focuses on traveling through subsequent locations while eliminating enemies and very original bosses. During the game, the player uses a mix of handguns and melee weapons (including items taken from fallen enemies). By using the power of her hair, Bayonetta can also summon powerful demons and hellish torture machines that allow her to eliminate her enemies in a very effective way. Witch Time, a very useful ability that slows time, proves to be an alternative key to victory in most cases.
