The game has been developed along with its predecessor and is set in an earlier period, which resulted in many changes to the in-game world, both regarding the rebuilt locations and the appearance of enemies. The gameplay is based on that from the previous installment — it focuses mostly on exploring the fantasy world, completing various quests, developing your character, earning new equipment, and fighting your foes.

A tactical turn-based jRPG with surprising plot. The game was developed by Altair Works. The player leads an uprising of slimes that usually serve as a cannon fodder in such games. Decimated creatures discovered that they can control human bodies and they intend to take advantage of this ability. The gameplay in Ambition of the Slimes focuses on turn-based battles that take place on a tactical map. The fights are strongly unusual due to the abilities of the slimes.

In Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories the player becomes a novice farmer and is tasked with rebuilding the former prosperity of a farm and gaining sympathy of the inhabitants of a nearby city by completing various story quests.
