An overwhelmingly popular MMORPG set in the universe known from a cult series of RTS games from Blizzard Entertainment. Several years after the events of WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, Azeroth is still being shaken by the conflict between the new two opposing factions. The Alliance assembles Men, Dwarves, Night Elves, and Gnomes. On the other side of conflict there is the Horde, consisting of Orcs, Taurens, Undead, and Trolls. In the game you pledge your allegiance to either of the two, create a character by picking one of multiple races and professions, and join thousands of other players from all over the globe in exploration of the vast game world, fighting dangerous foes, and facing various challenges, which are constantly being expanded by Blizzard’s developer team. As you progress in the game, your character develops according to the frames set by the canon of computer role-playing games. In order to play World of Warcraft you must buy the game and pay a monthly subscription.

EverQuest II is a follow-up to an immensely popular MMORPG, released five years after the original. It was developed by Daybreak Game Company, a studio which created the whole franchise. The game is set in the land of Norrath, perfectly known to all the fans, which was enhanced with many new locations. The list of changes also includes the character creator: before the beginning of the game, the players can select the race, looks, and gender of their avatar – the statistics and specialization of the character are determined later on in the game. EverQuest II also introduces new means of transportation (you can travel both on horseback and aboard a boat), as well as new events (such as gladiator duels), and the whole gameplay premise has been altered in many aspects; for example, experience can now be gained by peaceful conduct as well – for instance by developing craftsmanship, trading skills, magic abilities, or elements of the inventory. If compared with the prequel, Ever Quest II can boast substantially better graphics, spearheaded by high-resolution textures, complex weather effects, and rich animations.

An MMORPG game set in a fantasy world developed by Interpid Studios. Ashes of Creation takes us to a fantasy land that experienced a cataclysm a long time ago. Now there are only remains of the civilization, and when the members of the sentient species regained rule over the land, they also woke up an old threat. We create our own character, choosing one of eight races with different specializations. Gameplay isn’t much different from what we can see in other games from the genre, though we can get our own land to build a house and take one of the many available jobs. One noteworthy feature is a vast and varied world, which is shaped by players’ actions alongside the plot.

New technologies appeared as well (e.g. gunpowder), which had a visible effect on the lives of inhabitants. Similarly to its 2005 predecessor, players start their journey in Guild Wars 2 by creating a hero, choosing from 5 playable races and 8 classes. When exploring Draenor, which is divided into seven zones, the player visits mainly dried wastelands, forests filled with wildlife, frozen highlands and new dungeons. Significantly, the expansion introduces strategy elements allowing the players to build and manage their own fortresses. Within the place, the players can construct various buildings, such as inns, armories or stables. What's more, the players can also establish trading routes and hire henchmen willing to obtain weapons, treasures and materials for them. Additionally, the level cap was raised to 100. Another installment in the wildly popular strategy game series by Gas Powered Games, dedicated to web-based gameplay. You play as a leader of your chosen nation, and your task is to build your city, gather resources, develop new technologies, create a vast army and conquer new territories. Apart from your nation's capital, you can also visit other metropolises, where you can find not only stores, but also various quests, which you can complete on your own or with other players' help. More experienced player can try the special “Elite” difficulty level. Compared to the other games in the series, the visuals of Age of Empires online are more cartoonish. The game utilizes a free-to-play model, although new civilizations, add-ons and bonus missions cost real-life money. On 1 July 2014 the development of the game has ended and its servers were closed.

The newest expansion allows the players to travel beyond Eorza, to the territories occupied by the Garlean Empire. Stormblood also definitively ends the game's support for PlayStation 3. The biggest addition to the game introduced by Stormblood are the new locations. We will visit Ala Mhigo, travel to the new continent Othard and Doma Kingdom that lies there. The expansion also introduces new dungeons, raids (i.e. Return to Ivalice designed for 24 players), and special events. Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood increases the level cap to 70, introduces new skills, and two new classes: Red Mage and Samurai. You will also find tons of new, powerful pieces of equipment.
