This add-on offers over 25 completely new locations, among which one will find a new starting town. Also, dozens of quests and side missions were added.

The plot of the supplement focuses on the gods who make up the title trinity ruling the continent of Tamriel. Developers from Bethesda Softworks studio took care of a solid portion of new products, including new cities, beasts, locations and objects. The changes also included the interface and the character log.

The add-on takes the player on a journey to a completely new continent – the titular Kunark which consists of more than 20 new locations. The developers made the expansion friendly for new players who can create their character by using a new race – lizard-like Iksar.

In contrast to the basic version of the game, the expansion was developed by Verant Interactive. EverQuest: The Scars of Velious takes the player to a completely new realm – the titular Velious that is eternally ruled by cold. The place was created by Veeshan – a giant dragon whose claw separated the area from the rest of Norrath continent.

Origin Systems studio is responsible for the production of the extension. The plot of the add-on focuses on the title theme of Lord Blackthorne, who, together with an army of monsters, attacks British cities. The creators took care of new weapons, beasts and land - World of Ilshenar.
