A dark fantasy cRPG developed by debuting studio Red Hook. The story is set in a dark, medieval-like universe. While exploring ruins of an old castle and its dungeons, you face off against forces of darkness that overwhelmed the land because of the reckless actions of its previous sovereign. As you delve into the depths, you discover the dark history of a family who brought the evil upon the world. The gameplay focuses on dungeon crawling - dungeons filled with traps and crawling with monsters that need to be dealt with during turn-based combat sequences. An original idea is the sanity indicator of your heroes. Each team member has different personality and reacts differently to what is happening around him/her. Therefore, while playing you should keep an eye on their well being and fear levels, alleviating their stress by drinking alcohol or brawling, if needed.

An action game with roguelike and metroidvania elements by indie French studio Motion Twin. During the game, you explore a grim castle, whose elements (such as chambers, cloisters, and sewers) are procedurally generated. Given the permadeath system, it means that each new gameplay is a fresh experience, during which you can discover new parts of the fortress. An important aspect of Dead Cells is combat, which is very difficult. To succeed you have to work out the patterns of the enemies' attacks and to get the protagonist to a high enough level. In combat you use melee and ranged weapons, as well as offensive and defensive magic. The game features pleasant 2D pixel-art visuals.

Both installments of the Risk of Rain series have been developed by the independent studio called Hopoo Games. In Risk of Rain 2, a player assumes the role of a character traversing the surface of an unknown distant planet with the objective of surviving in this unwelcoming environment and exploring locations filled with aggressive adversaries. The player observes the action from the third-person perspective and explores dangerous areas filled with traps, arcade challenges, and enemies to defeat. Risk of Rain 2 offers improved character development system and elaborate crafting mechanics. Unlike its predecessor that featured a retro feel, Risk of Rain 2 delivers 3D environments and colorful, somewhat comic-book-like visuals.

At first you only have a few basic tools, which allow you to dig and find resources, chop wood, and create simple structures. As the game progresses, due to the extensive crafting system, you discover better tools, allowing you to create advanced materials and to fight monsters. There are many possibilities in the game, and the only restriction is your own imagination. Terraria features a single player mode, but you can join forces with other players, thus gaining precious allies, who can help you with the more challenging tasks.

A third-person action game featuring roguelike elements. After the Shadowgrounds series, it is the second major game developed by Harebrained Schemes, an independent American studio. Necropolis is set in a vast, magical, procedurally generated dungeon complex that constantly changes its shape. We play as a daredevil who vows to discover the secrets of the place and defeat the sorcerer who rules the complex and the intelligence he created, which feeds on the souls of those unfortunate enough to fall in its clutches. When it comes to the gameplay, it is an action game at its core; with a demanding combat system requiring good timing and identification of the enemy's weaknesses. We can increase our chances by the use of magical potions brewed from the ingredients we find in the dungeon. We can also take advantage of mystical spell books and runes. The game does not lack humor and features an original graphical design with relatively simple 3D models of characters and objects.
