A science-fiction roguelike shooter employing isometric view and created by Monothetic - a studio established by active members of Half-Life 2 modding community. The player assumes the role of Freja - a hired female pilot whose ship crashes on the surface of an unknown planet. Although the protagonist dies, she gets revived by a cloning station which survived the crash. In order to escape the planet, Freja has to make her way through hordes of hostile alien life forms and find materials required to communicate with those capable of rescuing her. The player explores procedurally generated environments and shoots enemies. In-game death is permanent and forces the player to start over from the very beginning. What makes the job easier however, is the fact that the protagonist is able to gather DNA from her victims. Different DNA combinations can be created before the next attempt - those give access to useful mutations.

An unusual logic game that combines a turn-based RPG with elements of the popular board game Scrabble, developed by Bacon Bandit Games. In Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey, we assume the role of two grim reapers called Grimm and Rose who have to face hordes of ghosts, monsters, and other evil spawn using only the power of… words. While playing, we traverse five varied lands and fight turn-based battles with enemies, which allows us to enhance our character and weapons as we progress in the game. Combat itself is quite unusual, since subsequent clashes involve forming words from a grand dictionary that consists of roughly 190 thousand English words. Damage dealt to an enemy depends on the amount of points scored for a given word. The effect can be further modified with the use of magical potions and items that we can buy for jewels obtained in the course of the game.

During the gameplay, we traverse successive levels, in which we meet a whole bunch of different enemies and a large number of traps, which often require some cleverness. The hero can move left or right only, sometimes pushing static objects, but he has a spectacular way of dealing with opponents – his style of fighting is reminiscent of a ninja fighter. After finishing each stage, we receive a rating in form of stars, whose number depends on, among others, the time elapsed and the number of gathered gleaming balls. Shadow Bug has a characteristic graphic layer – only the backgrounds are colored, while the whole foreground, along with the hero and his enemies, is presented in black.

A comical sneaking game developed by French studio, Moving Player. The player becomes a typical white collar working for one of the big corporations. The protagonist, who is notoriously late to work, is given an ultimatum: if he's late one more time, he's fired. When the main character had once again overslept after a party night, the only way for him to avoid the consequences is to sneak into his workplace without anyone noticing. In Level 22: Gary’s Misadventure the player is tasked with getting through 22 floors of a skyscraper. Each of them full of security guards, cleaning crews, and coworkers. The gameplay focuses on hiding in various places and distracting people on the way. If needed, one can use more aggressive methods such as knocking someone out or spiking their drink with a strong laxative.

A space combat sim focused on online PvP, which is actually a standalone version of the multiplayer mode taken from Elite: Dangerous, a game by Frontier Developments. This title allows up to 8 people to play together in such game modes as Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch, or Capture the Flag. The players have four types of ships at their disposal: Federal and Imperial Fighters, which offer high speed and maneuverability at the expense of weak armor and weapons, the powerful but fragile Eagle, and the slow and heavy – but also tough – Sidewinder. You can play on four diverse maps, including ice-bound asteroid belt, space station with a maze of corridors, mining facility, and arena with a space elevator in the center. In terms of gameplay and visuals Elite: Dangerous – Arena does not stray far from the 2014's original.

The first DLC for Fallout 4, Bethesda's action RPG that came out in November, 2015. The expansion introduces a new storyline connected to the mysterious Mechanist who unleashed an army or hostile robots, led by the cunning machines known as Robobrains, upon the Commonwealth. As one might guess, the player’s task is to deal with the new mechanical enemies whose appearance had also created an opportunity to expand on some of the gameplay mechanics. As we eliminate subsequent robots, we can salvage some parts of them, using them later on to construct and enhance our own mechanical henchmen who will accompany us while wandering the wasteland. The players can make use of a myriad of new components, including unique weapons and armor, that allow us to build robots that suit our needs and customize their appearances and even voice.

The second minor DLC for the 2015’s Fallout 4, a sandbox action RPG from Bethesda. The biggest novelty introduced in the Wasteland Workshop expansion is the option to tame or subjugate various kinds of hostile wasteland creatures, from beasts such as the Deathclaw to humanoid opponents, like bandits. Once captured, they can be kept in personally designed cages and let out when the situation calls for it, or we simply feel like doing it, for instance: during an assault on a mutant encampment or to provide a unique entertainment to the inhabitants of our settlement. As the title suggests, the expansion offers a large selection of new objects to craft and install in our settlements, including neon lights and various stuffed animals among other things.

The third in turn and the first major DLC for the fourth entry in the cult post-apocalyptic franchise, Fallout. In Fallout 4: Far Harbor, we take on a case from Valentine’s Detective Agency. Following the trail of a missing girl, the protagonist leaves the Commonwealth and finds himself on a heavily irradiated island on which the eponymous coastal town is located. Upon arrival, the hero engages in a conflict between three local factions and, uncovering subsequent secrets of Far Harbors, tries to bring peace to the place. The action takes place in a vast, completely new region that offers not only the aforementioned town, but also numerous settlements and undergrounds with a myriad of main and side quests to complete. Moreover, the expansion features some previously unavailable enemies, weapons, armor, and so on. The game is characterized by a significantly higher difficulty level than the vanilla game and is meant for more experienced characters.

A first person adventure game taking place in a science fiction reality. It was inspired by the biography of one of the most famous American sci-fi writers, Philip K. Dick. The story is set in 1967, and the player takes control of a penniless writer called Elvin Green who, discouraged by failures in both his personal and professional lives, seeks comfort in alcohol and drugs. With nothing to lose, the protagonist finds himself about to hit the rock bottom where, after having doped himself, he discovers a passage to an alternative reality called Theta. Exploring the subsequent locations of the mysterious world we ventured into, we search for different items that can solve the protagonist's real-world problems. At the same time, all story elements vividly refer to the life of Philip K. Dick himself, his obsessions, and phobias haunting him. The game stands out with its original and artistic visuals, aiming to recreate the atmosphere of a narcotic trip into the mind of the character.

A space arcade game from the endless runner genre, developed by Kool2Play. At first sight, Hyperide resembles classic space shooters that were once popular in the arcades. We control a small space ship that keeps flying upwards through levels filled with enemies and dangers. However, the gameplay strays from other similar games with one important feature: our ship doesn’t have any weapons mounted, meaning that our only choice is to avoid collisions with incoming objects. Hyperide offers two different game modes. The first one revolves around completing certain objectives within the levels with clearly defined beginning and end. The other one is infinite mode, where threats are generated randomly, our space track never ends, and the game goes on indefinitely until our ship is destroyed.
