They Are Billions: Mission 12 - The Frozen Lake

The Frozen Lake is, undoubtedly, the longest mission out of the ones you have played so far in They Are Billions campaign. During it, you have to take control of a huge territory. How to unlock and mission objectives

How to start: unlocked after completing The Land of the Giant mission

Mission objective:

1. Colony population: 1,500.
2. Eliminate all infected.
3. Survive the attacks of all hordes.
4. Destroy all the Villages of Doom
5. Restriction: the mission must be completed within 80 days.
6. Special properties of the map: Rich fishing  (+30% food received from Fisherman Cottage), Slow terrain (-20% to the speed of movement of units) and Cold weather (energy demand in buildings increases by 30%).

The mission

Start expanding north-west - there, you will find stones and a large Village of Doom.

1. Start as always, by placing 3 Tents, 2 Fisherman Cottages and a Sawmill. Spend extra gold on building additional Tents.
2. First of all, focus on expanding north-west - there, you will find stone deposits. Build a Quarry there to start extracting this resource.
3. Don't rush too much to the west- a large Village of Doom is in that area. Clear the terrains from single enemies and stand your expansion to the east - you will find single buildings belonging to the infected as well as iron deposits.

Use the huge resources of wood on this map to quickly surround the base with a wall.

1. Try to surround the base with a wall as fast as you can. There are a lot of "runners" in the area, mainly due to the Villages of Doom - it is necessary to limit their movement and the possibility of infecting your settlers.
2. The first Infected Swarm will attack you on day 15 - they will come from a random direction, but most likely from the north, given the location of your base. Place a double wall in that place and train a few more units.

The first iron deposit is located east of your base.

1. Subsequent attacks will happen on days 30 and 45. The final wave will arrive on day 61. The last horde will come from all directions - west, east, north, and south.
2. Use the fact that you have a lot of time before the final horde arrives to conquer the entire map - you have to do that because the terrains usable for farms in the north are limited (there are more of them in the south).
3. Build fortifications in the west, east, north and south edges of the map - do that before the final battle starts. Place 2 rows of walls, several towers, several dozen Soldiers and Snipers, as well as 2-3 rows of Stakes Traps.

Tips

2 rows of walls, Snipers stationing in towers, a row of Wasps and Stakes Traps - this defense line will stop the final horde.

Below you can find tips for The Frozen Lake mission:

1. The map is full of trees - use them to place numerous Hunter Cottages and Sawmills.
2. Given the increased energy demand on this map, it is worth investing in several Power Plants, provided you have access to them. They provide significantly more energy than a Mill, and the map is full of wood needed to service them.
3. Remember that units will move 20% slower here - keep this in mind before you start defending against the horde.
4. If you are short of food, the south offers a lot of terrains where you can build Farms.
