They Are Billions: Mission 08 - The Narrow Pass

The Narrow Pass is the eighth mission in They Are Billions. This is one of the most difficult missions during the early stages of the game. This is mainly due to the fact that the hordes move faster, and that the map isn't very player-friendly. In this chapter, you will find a walkthrough and tips related to The Narrow Pass mission.

How to start: unlocked after completing The Crossroads mission

Mission objective:

1. Destroy all infected.
2. Colony population: 1,000.
3. Survive the attacks of all hordes.

The mission

Try to build simple fortifications near each of the paths during the early stages of the mission - this will stop the enemies.

1. Start with placing 3 Tents. Next, build 2 Fisherman Cottages and 2 extra Tents. When you get the gold, build a Sawmill near the trees located to the north-west of the base - you will need to build a Tesla Tower.
2. Send Rangers to the south-east, where you will find stone deposits. After clearing the area, build Quarries.
3. Build Soldier's Center as soon as possible and start recruiting Rangers.
4. Build one Tesla Tower near each path (two in the north and two in the south) and block the passages with walls - from day 3 onward the enemies will start attacking you.

Iron deposit is near the north-east path - start getting this resource as soon as possible.

1. Start the expansion towards the north-east path. There, you will find iron deposits - increase the energy range of your base and set up a Quarry there to start collecting iron. Start training Soldiers as soon as possible.
2. At the end of the 14th day, start preparing for the first horde - build another wall behind the existing ones and place 2-3 towers. Wait until you get a message about the direction of the attack and then place the majority of your forces in that spot - the first wave is really challenging.

Defending against the first horde is the most difficult task in this mission.

1. From now on, your goal is to get 1,000 population points, so start the expansion. Try to focus on the individual paths - place durable fortifications in about 2/3 of their length and then move to the next path.
2. The next waves will attack you on 25th, 35 and 45th day (this is the final one). During the final battle, enemies will attack from all sides at the same time.

Tips

If you have a large supply of wood, you can set up an additional line of defense with the help of empty towers - enemies will need time to break through them. Your forces should have enough range to shoot the infected.

Below you can find a few tips for The Narrow Pass mission:

1. It is necessary to build a Quarry in the stone fields as fast as possible. Then, you have to build Soldier's Center and start recruiting units.
2. Quickly stretch out the base along the north-east part of the map and capture the iron deposit - thanks to it, you will be able to train Soldiers (recruit them as soon as they become available).
3. During the next hordes, don't focus solely on the defense of the side from which the enemy is coming - the other sides will also be attacked, although by a smaller group of opponents.
