Player becomes one of the Drifters - the seekers of forgotten technology. He embarks on a journey to dangerous land in order to find a cure for his deadly disease. The gameplay in Hyper Light Drifter is based mainly on exploration and dynamic combat, featuring many tactical options.

You have to build the restaurants in centers of big cities, employ new staff (up to 20 people per place) and manage their effectiveness, hire security, and interfere with your competitors' business. The last part can involve blackmail and threats, as well as police raids or using gangsters to get the desired results.
