The plot of Indigo Prophecy – perhaps better known as Fahrenheit - is set in New York City in year 2009. The city is witness to a series of inexplicably violent acts of murder committed by seemingly ordinary, lawful citizens. The action is presented from the point of view of two separate characters.

The title was developed by Sucker Punch, an American studio known for their Sly action adventure series released on PlayStation 2. The action of the game takes place in an open world and apart from the main storyline it introduces sandbox elements, consisting of a number of optional side missions.

The player assumes the role of Frank West (appeared first in the original game) - a photographer trapped in a town overrun by hordes of zombies. During the Christmas period, he has to somehow survive through a period of several days, waiting for help to arrive.

In the game, we assume the role of a reporter, Frank West, who arrives at a remote town in search of a scoop.

The open world of the game is procedurally generated, and the surfaces of planets and moons are made of voxels.
