How to unlock the quest: through conversation with Wells.

Quest giver: Wells (point 13 on the map).

A watchman named Wells can usually be found near the knife-throwing shield, in the Northern section of the mages camp (point 13 on the map). You can speak with the man and suggest a knife-throwing duel.

The rules for this mini-game are really simple. You have 5 throws at total, and you need to have more points after all of them than Wells managed to accumulate. For each throw you can get from zero (if you won't manage to hit the shield at all) to five points. It's recommended to aim at the areas giving 4 or 5 points (they are marked on the above screenshot). After you're done aiming at the target, you have to throw the knife at the right moment - do so when the blue bar is in the proper place. According to the moment the key / button responsible for throwing was pressed, the knife will go straight ahead, or a little to the up / down.

If you have managed to accumulate more points than Wells did, you will complete the quest.

Note - Wells is also an ability trainer.
