A multiplayer shooter game played from an aerial view. Foxhole emphasizes logistics-related tasks performed by the players - they have to gather resources, produce and deliver equipment, but also construct defensive structures. Developed by the Canadian studio Clapfoot, the game casts the players in the roles of regular soldiers fighting for one of two factions. The experience was inspired by battles fought during both World Wars. The players' goal is to take over and defend Town Halls located in different towns situated on the map. This goal cannot be achieved without tight cooperation between the comrades. Contrary to most games of this kind, weapons, ammunition and other parts of equipment do not simply appear in the soldiers' pockets - in Foxhole, almost every type of equipment has to be created and transported to a distribution point by some player. As a result, part of one's team fights the enemies, while the other serves the role of support at the same time, gathering resources, producing vehicles or equipment crates, and transporting weapons and ammunition using trucks. Additionally, the players can create automated defensive structures, such as bunkers or turrets, which can slow down the enemy's assault while one's allies are engaged in actions somewhere else.

Apart from the free-to-play spinoff - Forza Motorsport 6: Apex - the seventh full-fledged installment is also the first in the series’ history to be released not only on consoles but also on PC. Developed by an independent studio called Exor, X-Morph: Defense is an original twin-stick shooter with tower defense elements. The game shows an unpleasant vision of the future, in which the Earth has fallen victim to an alien invasion. Instead of defending the Blue Planet, the player assumes control over an Alien ship with an objective to face waves of human adversaries and defend enormous devices extracting resources and altering the Earth’s atmosphere. In X-Morph: Defense, the player observes the action from the top-down perspective, controls the aforementioned spacecraft, and erects defensive structures such as watchtowers - highly effective against particular adversaries. During the combat, the alien ship can assume four different forms, each one designed for dealing with a specific type of threats. To fight the enemies, the player can use the destroyable environment by e.g. collapsing a skyscraper to bar the way. The player can invade the Earth either alone or with another player in the cooperative mode.

In Super Mario Odyssey, the titular plumber has to saved his beloved Princess Peach, who this time faces a forced marriage with the game's main antagonist, Bowser. The game takes place not only in the typical for the series fairy-tale land, but also in the alternative version of the real world. In terms of mechanics, Super Mario Odyssey is a natural evolution of the series. We get a 3D platformer where we explore various locations using Mario's acrobatic abilities, gather items, avoid traps, and fight with the encountered enemies and bosses. Super Mario Odyssey comes with some new elements, like bigger locations or a more sandbox-like nature of the game that gives us more freedom of exploration. Mario's hat also has some interesting properties and gives us access to many unique abilities.

Another full-fledged installment in the popular series of third-person perspective action games with tactical features. The series is developed by the Japanese studio Omega Force. The story of Dynasty Warriors 9 is loosely based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms that describes the Chinese civil war that occurred during the 2nd and 3rd century. The player can choose from a few dozen of varied characters, some of which are well known from the previous entries in the series. The rest are completely new characters or ones from other games from this developer. The gameplay focuses on real-time battles with hundreds of participants. The title was released as part of the 15th anniversary of the series and it introduces some important novelties to the saga, including a modified combat system and a large open world that contains the entirety of China. The key to victory lies in proper usage of available weapons and special abilities of various characters and in taking advantage of the topography of the battlefields.
