Dying Light 2: Rope climbing - is it possible?
This Dying Light 2 game guide page explains if you can climb ropes for exploration (in addition to swinging on them).
On this page of the Dying Light 2 guide, you will find the answer to the question - is it possible to climb ropes. This can be an important issue when it comes to accessing difficult-to-reach locations, where the option to swing the rope doesn't solve the problem.

While traversing the game world, you may come across interactive ropes that are attached to various types of cranes or hoists. The game suggests only their default use, which is the ability to swing left and right. Thanks to this, you can jump to distant ledges located at the same or lower height, but it is not very useful for reaching higher areas.

Fortunately, you can also climb ropes - this option is not that obvious, as after grabbing a rope, instead of swinging and jumping, you can hold the interaction button (Square on PlayStation, x on Xbox) and tilt the analog stick up. In the PC version, hold down F and use the up and down keys.
Your character should start climbing. If Aiden doesn't move up, wait for the rope to stop swinging, as this may block you from going up. We recommend using this method to e.g. reach the roof or a ledge that is higher than the area where you made the first jump towards the rope.
Note - Remember that each activity performed on the rope will gradually use up your stamina bar, so hurry up with your planned activities.
