Starting windmills is one of the side activities in Dying Light 2 . An activated Windmill creates a new safe zone, with UV light, bed, stash and a trader. Activating a Windmill is also rewarded with a certain amount of Parkour XP.
Windmill - how to find?
A windmill will be marked on your map when you get close to it or scout it with your Binoculars. This should be a standard procedure when you enter a new district - climb the highest roof in the vicinity and use Binoculars to look for important areas or activities in the region.
The binoculars are obtained during the Markers of Plague story quest.
Windmill - how to climb?
Climbing to the top of the windmill is done by crossing through moving and stationary elements that lead to the higher levels of the structure. As you approach the top, you will encounter narrow beams or you will have to jump to the ladder that will lead you to the very top.
Before starting the task, it is worth spending a moment to observe the layout of the obstacles and familiarize yourself with the path you need to take in order to plan your climb well,
as climbing a windmill requires a certain number of stamina points. You can view the needed amount of stamina on the map, after placing the cursor on the windmill icon or through Journal -> Activities tab Next to the name of the windmill, there is also a recommended level of the activity.
Windmill - how to activate?
When you approach the windmill, an icon will appear on the screen under which the exact distance to the electric box will be marked. Once you reach the top, walk up to the box and follow the directions to activate the windmill and unlock new activities in the area.
