Wuchang Fallen Feathers: How to defeat South General - Liu Wenxiu?

South General - Liu Wenxiu in a nutshell

1. South General mostly uses lightning attacks and can cause Paralysis, which lowers your damage output. You want good resistance to this status to avoid its effects.
2. The boss can pull out a gun as well. He tends to use it a lot when you’re far away.
3. Since the South General is human, it’s way easier to knock him down or toss him into the air with specific abilities.
4. The back’s his weak point - landing charged attacks there lets you use Obliterate.

South General - Liu Wenxiu's attacks

1. Instant slash - the boss raises his weapon, swings it back, and then suddenly appears behind you, slashing through everything in his way. If he hits you, you’ll get launched into the air and take lots of damage. You need to avoid this attack by perfectly timing a dodge or by getting as far away as possible.

1. Air strike - South General will disappear in a puff of smoke. After about two seconds, he’ll swing his sword and land right where Wuchang is.

1. Lightning - when you hear Thunder and the boss starts charging his weapon with lightning, he’ll strike the ground with multiple lightning bolts.

1. Six hit combo - two quick slashes, a delayed slash, a heavily delayed slash, a quick slash, and one last slightly delayed slash after he spins. Each hit inflicts Paralysis.
2. Gun - the South General can pull out his gun and fire multiple shots in quick succession.

How to fight South General - Liu Wenxiu?

Although this enemy hits hard, many of his attacks give you a good chance to sneak up behind him. Charged heavy strikes should stun him, letting you use Obliterate. Moreover, hitting him from the front can stagger him and let you follow up with an extra attack.

When he shoots, dodge right away towards him to close the distance. If you don’t, he’ll keep shooting at you. If he says "Thunder" and starts summoning lightning, make sure to move away fast. If you stand too close and get hit by all the lightning bolts, you'll likely die instantly.

If you have skills that can launch humanoid enemies into the air, it’s definitely worth using them - it gives you plenty of time to follow up with more attacks.
