Walkthrough

As soon as you reach The Risen Road, you'll encounter a group of gnolls surrounding the caravan survivors. Get closer to initiate a fight. If, during the battle, you get close to Filind, you can force him to obey and kill the survivors to take their belongings. In this case, however, you will not skip the fight, because you will be attacked by the group later.

But if you look for the source of the voice, you can also convince the creature to stand with you against the gnolls. The latter option is far more beneficial. Filind will help you defeat the others, and then he'll rebel himself. In that case, however, you will have an advantage over him because he will be alone. After the fight, talk to the survivors - they'll ask you to bring the chest to their headquarters at Waukeen's Rest.

Once you get there, head to the building at the back of the complex (the door is hidden with crates). Inside, talk to the guard and give him the password, and you'll get the key to the hatch leading to the basement.

Once you enter the underground, interact with the closet - another entrance opens, leading to the proper hiding place.

Once you get in there, you will meet Zarys, and after a short chat, head towards her to talk to her again and finish the quest.
