Help the Devilish Ox is a side quest in Baldur's Gate 3 you should consider doing as the animal can help you later during the final battle.
Helping the Ox
This task is received from an Ox that is in a pen on a cliff. Talk to it and agree to help him get through the city gates.
In essence, you don't have to do any additional actions beside gaining entry to the main part of Baldur's Gate town. Once you enter Lower City, the task will be completed, and you'll receive a ring and a note as rewards, as well as the ability to call the Ox to help you during the final battle - the Ox will take a different form.
