An expanded and refreshed edition of a 2002 action game called Gungrave, which has been published on PlayStation 2 and based on an anime series under the same title. This remastered edition has been designed to support Virtual Reality headgear. The story of the game includes the episodes from the original as well as a number of new ones – the player is taken to a futuristic city full of criminals and ruled with iron fist by an organization known as Millennion. During the game, one assumes the role of a person brought back to life, whose main objective is to avenge his death and stop the evil plans of his former best friend Harry Macdowell. Gungrave VR is a hybrid of an action game and spectacular shooter, in which one observes the action from the third-person perspective, however, in combat, the camera switches to the first-person perspective. The gameplay revolves around exterminating hordes of enemies using a wide range of weapons – the main protagonist can utilize also the so-called Graveyard Special, which is a unique execution he can perform on the encountered bosses.

Another one of the numerous expansions to the popular turn-based strategy game Europa Universalis IV developed by Paradox Development Studio. Cradle of Civilization focuses on expanding features related to the Middle East and Muslim empires. It introduces many new solutions like new types of governments, the possibility to create Muslim schools that enable the player to increase their diplomatic power and the possibility to create trading policies by assigning missions to the merchants – the missions aren’t necessarily focused on earning money. The list of key novelties is supplemented by: greater influence over the army (for example, it is possible to create military discipline) and the option to abuse specific provinces (easy money is balanced by slower development in long term). All of it is based on the same technology as the one used in the base game and it doesn’t introduce any novelties to graphics or sounds of the game.

The game takes place during the Edo period and revolves around a wizard sent to a stronghold that serves as a prison for the enemies of the shogunate. Somehow he manages to free himself and take control of the whole building. The player controls a four-person group of warriors sent to stop the mage. The game is based on old school dungeon crawlers from the late 80s and early 90s. It features a first-person perspective view, jump-based movement system, the possibility to turn around only by 90 degrees and a real-time combat system. The possibility to split the team into two groups is an interesting addition. In such case each group can be controlled separately. This is useful both during combat and when solving riddles.

Ancient Amuletor is a VR action game with tower defense elements developed by the Chinese studio TiGames. Players are taken to a unique universe where mages and gunslingers fight with enemies on maps inspired by ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Action is presented from a first-person perspective (FPP). Gameplay focuses on defending magical crystals against waves of enemies. The game offers four playable heroes: mage equipped with a characteristic staff, gunslinger, archer, and doll maker. All of them make a good use of their unique weapons and special abilities. It has to be mentioned that, like in many similar games, we cannot move around the map and are stuck in one place. The game can be played alone or with up to three additional players through online co-op mode. Ancient Amuletor requires VR goggles and motion controllers to be playable.

Bad Dream: Coma is an adventure game by Desert Fox. The gameplay focuses on solving puzzles by using items found in the game’s world. The game set inside a nightmare, and the hero who gets trapped inside is ready to go to great lengths just to get out. In order to wake up, he needs to visit a number of horrifying locations, like a ruined bridge, gloomy swamps, or a disturbing hospital. He also meets different characters who are, just like him, trapped in this dreadful dimension. The choices the player makes play a crucial role in the story, as the consequences affect the whole world and lead to one of several endings.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is a remake of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, a game that was released in 2009 for Nintendo DS. Just like the original game, it was developed by Atlus. Developers implemented some audiovisual tweaks and changes (improved facial expressions, dialogues are now fully voiced). User interface and gameplay mechanics were also improved. The game now offers three difficulty levels and the possibility of saving the game anytime we want to. Strange Journey Redux also has an additional ending connected with the new character named Alex. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is a dungeon crawler. As we play, we explore dungeons and take part in battles with demonic enemies. While in combat, we rely on the individual abilities of demons we capture. Our job is to explore the unknown world that can be accessed through a portal opened in the South Pole and stop the invasion of demonic creatures that came out of it.
