Cyberpunk 2077: How do Piercing bullets work?

Cyberpunk 2077 offers a lot of possibilities when it comes to choosing weapons. You can use white weapons, grenades, hacking enemies, or ranged weapons. Ranged weapons are divided into several types - one of them is the weapon that allows piercing the shields. On this guide page you will learn how piercing bullets work.

How to use piercing bullets?

The piercing bullets are able to deal damage even if the enemy is hiding behind a shield. Getting them is very simple - all you have to do is get the Tech type weapon (you can check it in your equipment by hovering on the given weapon). These are not rare items. You can easily buy them from any weapon dealer and even get them from defeated opponents or find them in explored locations.

Tech weapons are characterized by the ability to charge and thus increase the damage and make it possible to pierce the shields. To charge the Tech weapon, hold down the shot button - the weapon will charge, and after a while, it will fire charged bullets (one shot will use several pieces of ammunition).

Of course, charged bullets cannot penetrate every shield, and if they do, they will do less damage. You can easily pierce the shields in the form of thin plates or fences, but it is not possible to inflict damage e.g. through thick walls.
