Can the character progress in Cyberpunk 2077 be unlimited? Below we answer the question of whether there is a limit on the hero's experience level - the so-called level cap. You will also find out if there are maximum levels for Street Cred and V's skills.

Maximum character level and Street Cred

In Cyberpunk 2077, the main character levels up in a rather obvious way - you level up each time you collect the required number of experience points. It also means receiving 1 attribute and 1 perk point.

The maximum experience level possible varies depending on the version of the game:

1. Level 50 - this is the last level if you only have the basic game;
2. Level 60 - is the new higher limit if you have the Phantom Liberty expansion.

You should advance to the highest level before finishing the game without much trouble, but that's assuming you spend time on optional quests and activities, which are a great source of experience. Once you reach level 50 or 60, you stop leveling up and won't receive any more attribute points.

1. Leveling up reputation (Street Cred) happens interdependently from leveling up the character. The general mechanism is the same - collecting the required number of Street Cred points will get you to the next level. We write more about it on our Street Cred page.
2. V's maximum Street Cred level is always 50. Having the DLC or upgrading the game to version 2.3 or later does not change this.
3. Rewards for leveling up Street Cred (primarily lower prices at merchants) aren't granted every level, but once every few levels. Some items or elements of the game may require the development of Street Cred to a specific level (e.g. eleventh).

What is the maximum skill level?

1. Version 2.0 of Cyberpunk 2077 has introduced important changes to developing V's skills. There are 5 main skills available and each of them can reach a maximum level of 60.
2. As with Street Cred, you can get a reward every 5 levels. These could include increasing critical damage or improving the Berserk mode. As a reminder, skills are developed by performing related activities (e.g. eliminating enemies with a specific type of weapon).
