Perks are unlocked as you develop your character in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The multitude of various perks (there are over 250 of them) can easily overwhelm new players. To make it a bit easier for you, here's our own list of the best perks that we recommend investing in early into your playthrough of KCD 2.

How to use perk points in Kingdom Come 2

Perk can be found in the Player tab in the hero's menu. Perks have been divided into three groups:

  1. In the Attributes tab, you will find general perks as well as those related to 4 basic stats: Strength, Agility, Vitality, and Speech.
  2. The Skills tab refers to perks related to specific actions performed in the game. Here you will find modifiers related to stealth, scholarship, horse riding or craftsmanship.
  3. Finally, the Combat tab includes perks increasing Henry's combat skills. They are also further divided according to the type of weapon used.

Performing a specific action in the game increases the level of the associated perk. You can view the current progress in the table, on the right side of the given skill.

By reaching new skill levels, you unlock perk points to spend in a specific category. You can check the number of available points in the table. You will find the total number of all available points at the bottom of the screen.

You can spend a skill point to unlock a perk from a selected category after expanding the list. Please note, however, that some perks will initially be grayed out. In order to unlock them, it will be necessary to first reach a specific level in a given skill. You can view the exact requirements by clicking on the description on the right side of the screen.

Having to reach a certain level sometimes makes it worthwhile to hold onto a free perk point to use it on a perk you'll unlock in the future.

Not only do you need to reach a minimal skill level, but also you can't transfer perk points between categories; as a result, acquiring subsequent perks is quite smooth. The more you perform a certain activity, the better you become. However, some perks are so useful that it's worth leveling up a skill even if you rarely use it, just for the perks. Below we provide a list of what we believe are the best perks.

Flower Power

  1. Skills, Survival, Level 8.
  2. When Henry has more than 30 herbs in his inventory, he automatically gains 2 Charisma points. Once you've activated this perk, you may want to use dried plants - they won't spoil as easily as fresh ones. They are also very light, so they shouldn't unnecessarily clutter up your equipment space.

Liberal Arts

  1. Skills, Scholarship, Level 10.
  2. This perk will allow you to see the difficulty level of a skill check in the dialog box. This option can help you decide whether to take on a check during a conversation. Additionally, this perk is necessary to unlock the following derivative perks: Basics of Theology, Basics of Law, and Basics of Medicine.

Strong as a Bull

  1. Attributes, Strength, Level 12.
  2. Increases carrying capacity by 20 pounds. A larger equipment will make it easier to organize your belongings during longer expeditions.

Night Crawler

  1. Attributes, Main level, Level 12.
  2. At night, you gain a bonus of 2 to Strength, Agility, Vitality and also 3 to Stealth. It's especially useful for players who prefer a gameplay style based on silent stealth.

Ascetic

  1. Attributes, Vitality, Level 6.
  2. Nourishment decreases 30% slower. This will somewhat reduce the problem of hunger, especially when you are far from shops and inns. You can find more about hunger on the dedicated page: How do hunger and exhaustion work?.

Helping Hand

  1. Skills, Craftsmanship, Level 8.
  2. Repairs at craftsmen's are 20% cheaper. This activity is performed quite often, so in the long run it will allow you to save a significant amount of money.
