Kingdom Come 2 Brushes with Death: Chiaroscuro

As part of the Chiaroscuro quest in Kingdom Come 2, Henry has to obtain a basilisk egg. How to start the quest?

1. This is the third quest from the Brushes with Death DLC. You must first complete the quest Source of Inspiration and talk to Voyta about the next assignment. There is no need to wait until the artist returns to the Trosky Castle. You can talk to him while still being next to the Veles shrine from the previous object.
2. The new quest involves obtaining a basilisk egg and consists of 2 main parts described below.

Where to find the egg of a black cockerel?

1. The person you need to talk to first is Slavek from the Semine village. You'll find him in one of the residential buildings or hanging around the farm. Ask him about the black cockerel. Using persuasion will allow you to get the information you need faster.

1. Head south of Semine. Once you arrive, the first thing you deal with is defeating the wild dogs that inhabit this area.
2. After the fights, you can find a dead black cockerel. Next to it, you'll find the egg you were looking for.

Where to put the egg?

1. Once you have the egg, you must visit the swamps west of the Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn. The sounds made by toads will guide you to their nest. The attached screenshots show the sought-after place: it's the south-eastern part of the search area, next to a black, destroyed tree.

1. Stay away from the toad's nest. You have to wait 24 hours - you can choose either wait or go rest.
2. Then, return to the same place and check the nest. There should be a basilisk egg in it. The last step is to bring the egg to Voyta. Complete the quest and you will unlock new symbols to place on painted shields. After waiting another 24 hours, you can unlock the next quest, Portrait in Red.
