Having a torch is almost a requirement in KCD 2. Nights in this game can be really dark, and the interiors of medieval buildings don't have the best illumination. In such situations, a torch will come in handy. On this page, you will learn how to acquire a torch and how to equip it.

Where to get a torch?

Torches are a common item that you will find almost everywhere. You can buy them from merchants or even steal them from someone's house. The easiest way to get a torch, however, is to loot the bodies of defeated enemies. The bandits you will be fighting usually have one or even several torches in their equipment.

How to use a torch?

1. Find the torch in your inventory. It is located in the Weapons tab, usually at the very bottom of the list.
2. The inventory slot for the torch is located on the right side of the screen. All you need to do now is click on the torch, and it will automatically go to its slot.
3. Press the appropriate button, and Henry will pull out the equipped torch, which will brighten the darkness in the area. On the keyboard, the key responsible for equipping the torch is R.

The hero holding the torch cannot use both hands. For example, if you use a sword and a shield, after drawing the weapon, Henry will only pull out the sword. If you try to use a two-handed weapon (e.g. a bow), the protagonist will automatically put away the torch.

A torch is also an important item that will help you avoid problems at night. Walking at night without lighting can arouse suspicion among the guards. To avoid trouble with the law, carry a lit torch.

Also remember that the light of a torch easily reveals your position. If you want to do some stealth after dark, don't equip a torch.
