Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: How to increase carrying limit?
Carrying capacity and equipment limit is a classic RPG mechanic also present in KCD 2. On this page of the guide we will tell you how to increase the number of items Henry can carry.
Carrying limit is one of the basic mechanics in KCD 2, which you will need to pay attention to during the game. The limited strength of the hero will force you to carefully manage the items you carry with you. On this page, you will learn how to organize equipment and how to increase the maximum carrying limit.
How does carrying limit work?
The current carrying capacity of the hero is visible at the bottom bar on the equipment screen. The weight of each item is visible next to the item name, in the column under the weight icon.
If the weight of your items exceeds the current limit, Henry will receive the Overloaded status. Overloaded hero:
- Can't sprint;
- Moves much slower;
- Can't mount a horse;
- Can't use fast travel;
- Uses more stamina for attacks and dodges.
The more you exceed the limit, the more sluggish the protagonist's movements will be.
How to avoid getting overloaded?
The simplest way to reduce the equipment load is to transfer some of the equipment to the horse. To do this, select any item from the inventory, and then press the appropriate button described on the bottom bar (X on the keyboard).
A horse also has its own carrying capacity, however, it can be increased by purchasing a new saddle or additional saddlebags. It's a good idea to keep less frequently used items in the horse's inventory, such as spare outfits or repair kits.
Also, remember that you will not always have access to your mount and its equipment. This refers to situations where you are in a room as well as several story-related sequences in which Henry loses his mount.
You can find more information on how to get a horse on the page How to get a horse?.
Another method for storing less frequently used items is using private trunks. Most of the locations that offer you access to a private room with a bed also have a chest. You can safely store most unnecessary items there.
The last option is simply selling unnecessary items. It's worth doing this, because in addition to extra cash, successful transactions increase your reputation among the local residents.
How to increase carrying capacity?
How to directly influence Henry's carrying limit? There are several ways to do this.
Maximum carrying capacity is directly related to your strength statistic. By developing this stat, the inventory limit will be increased by a few additional pounds at each level.
The carrying limit is also affected by a temporary strength boost. Elixirs such as the artemisia potion will allow you to carry significantly more items for a certain period of time. You can buy potions of this type at pharmacists.
Finally, it's worth mentioning the perks that will permanently increase your carrying capacity. These are:
- Hard-Working Lad (Strength, Level 6) - significantly facilitates the carrying of bodies, sacks, and other weights. Additionally, it increases the carrying capacity by 8 pounds.
- Pack Mule (Strength, Level 8) - increases carrying capacity by 12 pounds.
- Strong as a Bull (Strength, Level 12) - increases carrying capacity by 20 pounds.
Accumulated bonuses can quickly allow you to significantly increase Henry's maximum carrying limit.
