Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Where to find a bed?
Having a private place to sleep is an important part of gameplay in KCD 2. From this page of the guide, you will learn the benefits of having a private place to sleep, as well as where you can find one early in the game.
Securing your own place to sleep is an important element of gameplay in KCD 2. It's worth getting a private bed as early as possible, as you will be using it quite often. On this guide page, we will give you tips on where you can find a bed in the first region, at the beginning of the game.
Why do I need a private bed?
The main character of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 can feel fatigue and as a result, will have to get some sleep every now in order to rest. Sleep not only reduces his exhaustion level, but also restores some health and allows to neutralize negative statuses (such as alcohol intoxication).
In the game world, you will find plenty of beds, but sleeping in a stranger's house is not the best idea. A stranger's bed restores the hero's health at a slower pace and doesn't allow for saving the game. Additionally, if you get caught taking a nap, the homeowners may turn out to be hostile. You might also get into trouble with the law.
All this can be avoided by having your own bed. Sleeping in your own bed restores Henry's stamina and health faster and saves the game automatically. Additionally, you don't have to worry about a stranger catching you trespassing on private property.
You can learn more about sleep and exhaustion on the page How do hunger and exhaustion work?.
Bed at Radovan's (the blacksmith)

Right after the end of the prologue, the game will allow you to follow one of two paths: completing quests for either the blacksmith or the miller. By choosing the first path, you will be directed to Tachov, where you will meet Radovan. Your first task will be to forge a sword, which will also serve as a tutorial for blacksmithing mechanics.
After forging the sword, speak to Radovan again. Radovan will allow you to keep the sword and will also provide you with a free room in his household. The entrance to it is located on the side wall of the building, not far from the gate.
Inside you will find a bed and your own chest, where you can store unnecessary items. From now on, you can visit Tachov and sleep in your own room whenever you want. It's also worth noting that in the next room you'll find a pot with food: you can help yourself to it.
Getting a room at the blacksmith's is very simple and it's worth doing it as soon as possible. You can learn more about the quests for Radovan on the page Blacksmith's tasks.
Bed in the Zhelejov's Inn

The second place where you can get a private bed is a room in the Zhelejov's Inn. This place can be found in the central part of the first region and you will visit it e.g. while completing the quest where you're looking for a lost dog.
In the lodgings (marked on the map with a tankard icon), you can rent a room for one night. However, sticking to permanent beds is a much better option. At Lawrence's, renting a room permanently costs 120 groschen. After paying the fee, you will have the opportunity to use the room whenever you want.
In the upstairs room, you will find a chest and a bed. In the central room on the ground floor, you will also find a hearth with food. The central location of the Zhelejov's Inn makes it a great base for longer expeditions into the region.
