How to find food for Hans?
The defenders of Suchdol ran out of food and the meager rations are not enough to satisfy hunger. Your task is to find something for yourself and Hans. There are several ways to do it:
- Talk to Musa of Mali in the main courtyard and he will come up with the idea of making soup from Lady Frenzl's shoes. You can break into the chest in her room (Difficult lock) or convince her (she's sitting downstairs) to give you the key (Speech, Domination - Very Difficult, Dread - Medium). Take the shoes to Musa to get the shoes soup.
- Talk to the stableman in the outer courtyard. He will ask you to tame a wild horse. Ride around the courtyard a few times and you will get moonshine, which you can give to Hans.
- Talk to Janosh. Dry Devil will interrupt the conversation and demand that you kill and cook your dog, Mutt. If you agree, you will receive soup, but you will permanently lose your dog. If you refuse, you will have to convince Dry Devil to change his mind (Speech, Dread - Difficult) or defeat him in a fist fight.
Hand over the obtained food to Hans (or tell him that you don't have any food) to continue the quest. As Godwin, you will have to deliver a funeral speech for the fallen. You can choose to recite church formulas or speak from the heart - both skill checks will be successful. However, during the funeral, the Praguers will attack again.
How to fend off an attack on the tower?
You'll have to face another battle with the Praguers. You know the drill by now: knock down four ladders using a pole weapon. Run up the stairs to the walls and start knocking down the ladders. If hostile Praguers are standing by them, focus on fighting them - occupy them so that your allies can knock down the ladders for you.
The Praguers will break into the tower: interact with the doors to force them and get rid of the enemies inside, on all three floors of the tower. Next, go through the tower to the other side of the walls and knock down the two ladders there. Defeating all the Praguers on the walls will end the battle. Watch the cut-scene. You won't be able to fend off the next attack, so the defenders will decide on an almost suicidal mission. Henry and Samuel will escape from the fortress, break through the Praguers' camp, steal a horse and go get help.
How to prepare for leaving the fortress?
If you still have the waffenrock of Praguers, which you received in The Lion's Den quest, take it with you. It will allow you to impersonate a Prague soldier and freely explore the camp, which will make the next quest much easier.
Before you leave Suchdol, deal with all unfinished matters. Talk to Musa of Mali in the field hospital, who will heal your wounds and restore you to full health. Also, say goodbye to Katherine and Capon. If you've been following any romantic storylines, they will reach their climax here. Once you're ready, go to the walls and wait for Samuel. Together you will set off to the enemy camp, which will complete the quest.
