How to find out about the wedding?

After a few cut-scenes, you will have to talk to Katherine. First, however, you have to wash yourself in the tub in the inn's yard. The conversation at the beginning will not bring results, but even if you don't pass the persuasion check, you will receive the necessary information in the next cut-scene. Next, you need to talk to the innkeeper, who will give you a task to work off the debt. You will have to move a few sacks from the cart to the pantry. Talk to Hans Capon to ask him for help - unfortunately, the young man will let you down.
You can also ask the innkeeper about the wedding where the lord you are looking for is supposed to be. She will suggest that you ask Thrush for help - he is sitting at the table next to Hans. After a short conversation, he will recommend you to help the miller or the blacksmith. This would allow you to get to the wedding as a worker. Thrush will also ask you about a game of dice in exchange for a wedding invitation. You can play with him - he's not too tough an opponent - but Thrush lies and will give you nothing in return for victory.
How to pay off debt?
You have to work off the debt without the help of Capon. Approach the cart next to the tavern and take the sack from it. Next, take it to the tavern - enter through the open door, go to the end of the vestibule, go through the door on the right and put the sack on the boards in the dark pantry. You have to repeat this process three times.
After delivering the third sack and leaving the tavern, watch the cut-scene. Capon quarreled with Thrush and started a fight. Defend yourself against the rest of the guests - the fight is heavily scripted and will be quickly interrupted by the guards. After being locked in a pillory and arguing with Capon, the quest will end.
