The story is the essential part for the game, whereas gameplay mechanics are based on the well-proven formula employed by Telltale, which combines free exploration and difficult choices with non-obvious consequences. An interesting addition to the gameplay is the fact that Max possesses the power to manipulate time, allowing you to experience another version of events without having to restart an entire episode. On the technical side, the game is well-designed and well-executed, featuring expressive, slightly cartoonish graphics.
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
Adventure
February 8, 2015

The story of the second installment picks up one year after the events shown by its predecessor, allowing the players to control the team of heroes aided by an amiable creature named Critter – one might remember all these characters from the first game. Gameplay mechanics haven't changed significantly and they still draw from the solutions typical for point & click adventure games. During the game, the players have to solve many new riddles – in order to do this, one is bound to use the characters’ unique skills. Like in its predecessor, the gameplay in The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is filled with humor making fun of the fantasy clichés found in many books, movies, and games (such as The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Song of Ice and Fire, Discworld, and World of Warcraft). The visuals have been significantly improved but the game still features the same specific style one might remember from the first installment.

One has to find a den, gather food and protect the offspring against natural threats. The gameplay is more complex this time, because different new elements were introduced, such as the stamina meter. Since the traits possessed by a lynx are different to those of a badgers, the gameplay mechanics are slightly different. This mechanic allows him to reach inaccessible places and solve many puzzles. Although A Pixel Story does not feature any opponents to battle, each level is filled with various traps and death can come at any time. Another interesting innovation is the artwork.
