Airport CEO

Airport CEO

PC

Strategy

March 4, 2021

An economic tycoon game that enables the player to assume the role of an airport director. The title was developed by Swedish developer Apoapsis Studios, and it challenges the player with designing and expanding a well-working airport complex consisting of many coexisting installations: runways, control towers, bus stops, sidewalks and roads to connect it all, etc. The most important part of the airport is the terminal – the building in which the passengers are checking in, waiting for the plane, visiting bars, shops and toilets. The freedom in designing the look and layout of the terminal enables the player to decide about the placement of each seat and plant. However, the placement of the key objects is most important: information points, security gates, toilets. The player must also hire personnel and cleaners. At some point it is possible to sign contracts with airlines and create air connections with other cities. Arriving planes will bring and take many passengers – each with unique traits and needs.

Stronghold: Warlords

As always, the game takes us to medieval times, and allows us to assume the role of a lord with a small castle and a poor village at his command. Our job is to grow the area to become a powerful domain. Stronghold Next doesn’t differ much from the previous installments of the series – we are occupied with expanding the village and the titular stronghold, as well as engaging in wars with other lords. However, Stronghold Next contains a number of new elements that have enhanced the gameplay. The game mainly focuses on economic (village management) and military aspects (battles that employ various siege techniques). The players can also design and expand their fortress using a wide range of ready-made elements.

March 30, 2021

A direct sequel of the 2004 real-time strategy game from Elixir Studios. The continuation is developed by Rebellion studio, which decided to stick to a proven idea. Evil Genius 2 returns to the titular villain and his malicious plans. The story inspired by classic spy movies offers the same unique humor that first game became renowned for. The most important feature of the gameplay is the development of a secret super base – we build rooms with specific functions while also defending from attacks of law enforcers. We deal with crime fighters by sending out our henchmen, constructing fancy traps and equipping our soldiers with unusual weaponry. All of this is complemented by managing our financial and technological supply base, with our main source of income being more or less complicated missions that throw us to different parts of the world. Evil Genius 2 is the first RTS to use the Asura technology created by the British developers at Rebellion.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator

PCPlayStationXboxNintendo

Strategy

April 1, 2021

A grotesque strategy game from the developers responsible for such curious projects as Square Brawl and Clustertruck. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator allows the players to control an army of colored humanoids. We spend our money on infantry, archers, pikemen, or siege machines, such as ballistae and catapults. Each battle begins with a planning phase where we can set the formation and tactics employed by our forces, and then watch the results of these decisions in a three-dimensional environment. The physics engine implemented in the game is one of its highlights – the troops’ animations and ragdoll effects, as well as projectile trajectories and impacts are calculated on the fly, creating spectacular, or more often, funny situations. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is characterized by its sterile visuals – angular character models and objects are coated with uniform, very simple textures, which emphasizes the absurdity of the game.
