Ghost of Yotei: Difficulty levels

Ghost of Yotei allows you to flexibly tailor the gameplay to your preferences, offering five predefined difficulty levels. Additionally, the game allows you to create a Custom mode, where you can freely modify parameters such as enemy aggression and the parry window frame. What are the difficulty levels?

When starting Ghost of Yotei, players can choose from 5 difficulty levels:

1. Casual;
2. Easy;
3. Medium (default);
4. Hard;
5. Lethal.

There's also an additional Custom Mode. Here, players can freely adjust the difficulty of individual gameplay elements independently. Modifiable mechanics include:

1. Enemy aggression;
2. Parry and dodge timing windows;
3. Enemy damage;
4. Stealth;
5. Bonuses gained by the heroine (e.g. Spirit recovery rate).

How to change the difficulty level?

To change the difficulty settings, simply select Settings in the pause menu and then the Gameplay tab. The difficulty level is the first option on the list. In this tab, you can also customize elements such as having a wolf or a golden bird guide the protagonist to interesting places on the map.

Accessibility features

The settings menu also includes an Accessibility tab. There, you will find a set of useful options that will help you tailor the gameplay to your needs and preferences. Some of the more interesting options include:

1. Changing the color and size of text.
2. Increasing the visibility of flashes signaling specific attack types.
3. Increasing the visibility of the wind leading to the mission objective.
4. An option that makes it easier to perform quick button presses (e.g. Bamboo Strikes).
