Ghost of Yotei: How to change the time of day and speed up time?
Changing the time of day in Ghost of Yotei can allow you to sneak around at night, for example. On this page of the guide you will find instructions on how to speed up the passage of time on demand to explore the world during daytime or nighttime hours.
Is it possible to speed up time in Ghost of Yotei? Our guide covers the time-of-day option, as well as practical applications for traveling around Ezo during the day or at night (e.g., for easier sneaking and silently eliminating enemies).
How to speed up time?
- Changing the time of day in Ghost of Yotei is simple and straightforward. The quickest way to speed up time is by setting up a camp.
- Ride or approach your horse, hold left on the D-pad, and fill the camp bar that appears at the bottom of the screen.
- You won’t be able to set up a camp everywhere. Atsu can’t set up camp during a story mission or combat, and there must be no enemies nearby. You also can’t set up camp near buildings - move to a more open area and try again.
- Once your camp is set up, highlight your horse and the sleep option will appear. You can then choose how long to sleep - either until morning or night. This will let you decide whether to explore the island during the day or at night.
- Another way to speed up time is by using fast travel. The time of day can shift when you teleport to distant locations or use fast travel several times in a row.
Features and advantages of changing the time of day
- Like in Ghost of Tsushima, nighttime makes it easier to infiltrate enemy locations. Enemies’ vision is reduced, making it easier to sneak past them - and most importantly, take them out silently.
- Stealth can also be made easier by wearing Nine-Tails armor or equipping the right charms (like the one pictured above, which makes enemies detect Atsu slower).
