Ghost of Yotei: How to obtain Jin's equipment?

Ghost of Yotei takes place over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Every character from the first game is therefore long dead. One of them is the former protagonist, Jin Sakai. Although Jin has passed, his legend lives on, while Atsu will have the opportunity to discover the story of the ghost of Tsushima and acquire his equipment during her journey. This page of our guide describes how to acquire Jin Sakai's sword, helmet, and mask in Ghost of Yotei.

How to get Jin Sakai's gear?

You will only be able to obtain Jin's equipment towards the end of the game. It's hidden at Oshima Coast, the last region unlocked during the main storyline. Before you can access it, you must kill three members of the Yotei Six – the Snake, the Oni, and the Kitsune. Upon reaching Oshima Coast, head to the lower left corner of the map, where the storyteller Ugetsu awaits you. Talk to him to start a side quest - The Storm Blade.

During the quest you must follow the gray fox, who will lead you along a linear path through a hidden grove where Jin Sakai lived out his final years. Along the way, you'll pass an abandoned hut, where you'll find Jin's helmet. You can take it with you.

Climbing to the top of the waterfall will lead you to a cave where you will find Jin's sword, the titular Storm Blade. The sword will be stolen by a group of shinobi, and you will have to pursue their leader. During the chase, you will fall into a river and have to swim with the current until you reach a cliff you can climb. Eventually, you will reach a vast field of white grass. In the center stands Jin's house, which you can explore to learn about his life in Ezo.

Beyond the field is a wooden gate, and behind it, a large tree, where you will duel the sword thief. After killing him, Atsu will acquire Jin's sword and learn one of his techniques - Dance of Wrath. Use it to quickly eliminate the remaining Nine-Tails.

The moment you kill the thieves, the quest will end. After the closing cutscene, make sure to pick up the Ghost Mask off Jin's grave. Unfortunately, you cannot obtain his armor — only his helmet, mask, and sword are available in the game. All of these items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on your stats.
