Ghost of Yotei: How to solve the Sarufutsu Lighthouse puzzle?

How to complete the statue puzzle at Sarufutsu Lighthouse? In our Ghost of Yotei guide, we described one of the puzzles related to The Nine Tails' Cipher, which you can tackle while exploring the Teshio Ridge region. The images and description will help you correctly place all the fox statues.

Where is Sarufutsu Lighthouse?

1. Sarufutsu Lighthouse is a unique location on the world map and can be found on the eastern edge of the Teshio Ridge region, which is located in the northern part of Ezo Island. You can spot the lighthouse from a distance, and after entering it, you'll discover that there's a fox statue puzzle to solve - it's required to unlock the next passage.

How to solve the cipher and statue puzzle?

The Nine Tails' Cipher can help solve the puzzle. We have described the details on a separate page, How to complete the first cipher puzzle?. Having the cipher is not mandatory, but thanks to it you can decipher the meaning and placement of various symbols. Alternatively, you can use our solution presented below.

The puzzle consists of two parts. In the first part of the puzzle:

1. Rotate the first statue on the left (the one closest to the exit) once, then the second statue on the left 3 times.
2. Both statues should be facing the smaller fox statue (see the picture), and you will hear a short sound confirming that you did everything correctly.

1. Take the small statue and place it on one of the pedestals in front of the closed door.

For the second part of the puzzle:

1. Rotate the first statue on the right (the one closest to the exit) 3 times, and then the second statue on the right once.
2. Both statues should be facing the smaller fox statue (see the picture), and you will hear a short sound confirming that you did everything correctly. Take it and place it on the second pedestal in front of the closed door.

Reward for solving the lighthouse puzzle

1. Correctly placing the two small statues on the pedestals will unlock the door, and you can now use it (image above).
2. By solving the puzzle in the lighthouse, Atsu can visit 2 new locations that are adjacent to it - these are the Hunting Camp Hideout and sanctuary where various friendly animals appear.
