What are Sumi-e?

1. Sumi-e are monochromatic paintings created using black ink. Atsu, the protagonist of Ghost of Yotei, can create paintings in several places on the map.
2. Painting takes the form of a simple mini-game in which you swipe the finger on the controller's touchpad.
3. The reward for completing the Sumi-e activity is special items. Most often headgear or masks.

All Sumi-e in Yotei Grasslands

In the Yotei Grasslands region, there are 4 Sumi-e painting spots.

1. Plum Crane - the painting spot is located on a small hill with a large boulder. After painting the heron, you will be rewarded with the Headband of Loss.

1. Careful Pincers - on the rocky coast. The reward for completing the activity is the Hat of Curiosity.

1. Chasing Frogs - on a small hill next to Lake Jozan. The reward for completing the activity is the Hat of Youth.

1. Mount Yotei - on a densely vegetated hill near the river and the region border. You will receive the Headband of Yotei.

All Sumi-e in Tokachi Range

There are 2 Sumi-e painting locations in the Tokachi Range region.

1. Free Skies - near a large boulder covered in greenery. You will receive the Mask of Freedom.

1. Season's Colors - south of the Tomamu Marshlands. For completing the activity, you will receive the Headband of the Seasons.

All Sumi-e in Nayoro Wilds

There are 2 places to paint Sumi-e in the Nayoro Wilds.

1. Peaceful Kotan - near the transition between regions, on a rock overlooking the village. For completing the painting, you will receive the Mask of Community.

1. Drying Bark - on the opposite side of the river. The reward is the Headband of Tranquillity.

All Sumi-e in Teshio Ridge

In the Teshio Ridge region, there are 2 places for Sumi-e painting.

1. Howling Pack - the central part of the region, southeast of the abandoned village. After completing the activity, you will receive the Headband of the Wild.

1. Frozen Moment - near the large boulder above the stream. The reward is the Mask of Slumber.

All Sumi-e in Ishikari Plain

There are 3 places to paint Sumi-e in the Ishikari Plain region.

1. Chatting Crows - near the waterfall in the eastern part of the map. The reward is the Hat of Messengers.

1. Defiant Roots - west of the quarry. The reward is the Headband of Fortitude.

1. Crashing Waves - a very high cliff on the western border of the region. For completing the painting you will receive the Headband of Defiance.

All Sumi-e in Oshima Coast

There are 2 Sumi-e painting locations in the Oshima Coast region.

1. Lost Flight - by a large boulder in the northern part of the region. The reward is the Mask of Remembrance.

1. Imperial Sakura - in the gardens surrounding Matsumae Castle. For completing the painting, you will receive the Hat of Refinement.
