Ghost of Yotei: Is there respec?

Character growth in Ghost of Yotei comes from unlocking new abilities across multiple skill trees. Along the way, you might wonder if you can undo decisions and try a different playstyle. This guide explains whether the game lets you respec - reset your skill points.

Is there respec?

Unfortunately, Ghost of Yotei doesn’t let you reset or reassign spent skill points. This means that once you spend a skill point, you can't get it back.

Choose your next upgrades carefully. After gaining a new point (e.g. after finding an Altar of Reflection), think carefully which tree you'd like to spend it on.

Keep in mind that even in a normal playthrough, you’ll earn skill points fairly quickly. Because of this, most players will have nearly maxed out all of Atsu’s skill trees by the end of the adventure.

If you accidentally spend a point on a skill that doesn’t suit you, don’t worry. You’ll likely earn more skill points soon after.
